A Month of Dress Ups
Eden's new favorite thing to do is play dress ups. Below you can see her best imitation of Janis Joplin. She gets this outfit on when she is really in the dancing mood. Then she runs into our room and tells us what song she wants to dance to. Lately it has been MGMT's "Electric Feel". She's got some groovy taste in music :)After the song is over, she blows kisses to her fans.
She also loves to dress up as princesses. She understands though, that even princesses have to help around the house. She likes being useful and here she is helping me tape up a package for Grandma Jensen. After all that work she likes to act out "Sleeping Beauty",
but in her version she rescues herself from terrible danger!
After a while, it is onto the next princess. Snow White.

But, she'll only tolerate photos for little bit. Here she's subtly letting me know that the photo session is over. Strangely enough, she's always more than happy to take a photo with Nem. Here she poses as Princess Diaper Head.
Nem just likes being herself and is definitely happy just to sit and watch all the dramatics :)
It's not too long before Eden notices that Nemmie could use a costume as well. Nem doesn't seem quite sure about the whole thing.Ah yes. Being a mom to two girls is going to be one heck of a ride :)

Christmas in Wisconsin!
This year we spent the week before and the day of Christmas in Wisconsin. Our flight out there was easy and surprisingly enough we had a lot of fun running around the airport. (The tunnel between concourses at the Detroit airport is perfect for little girls; filled with lights and sounds :)

When we got there, everyone made us feel at home. Eden got into pj's and proceeded to teach her Grandpa and uncles all about dolls. Little did they know that they would get a very thorough education concerning all things doll and princess related during the week. Nem only wanted to focus on edibles and beverages . . .Here Eden is wearing my dad's winter hat that he's been wearing since I was her age :)
We did a lot of reading that week, which just happens to be both Eden and her Grandma's favorite past-time. Apparently this was a good one :)
Nemmers took every opportunity to try out the local cuisine. She's not quite sure if "Midwest Beard" is quite the delicacy she is looking for.
But she was quite pleased to hang out with Aunt Cedes; who provided a nice bump for her to sit on. Cousin Corben didn't seem to mind too much :)
Nick put on a nice Lounge Act for us on Christmas Eve. Corben is very lucky to have such a talented father. Ehem. Ehem.

Nem ignored her uncle and instead spent some time sizing up her Grandma/Godmother. They both came to the conclusion that they liked each other quite well :)Eden was just excited to be staying up so late. ( She gets such rosy cheeks when she is tired :)Here she is, keeping everyone entertained while we wait at the top of the stairs on Christmas morning. She spent copious amounts of time tickling each of her uncles. I think it astonished her to be able to send such big burly men into fits of giggles. . . er . . . ummm . . .Or rather, manly guffaws. She really disliked my taking pictures of her in the midst of her laundry basket adventures. At her Great-Grandma Molly's house she was even less inclined to be photographed as she made the rounds handing out toys. Nem was exhausted, and had a different kind of adventure in the laundry basket at Great-Grandma Molly's.

A Tentative Step into Dollmaking . . .
I know the Zombie-ness of this doll can be a bit off putting to some, but Eden has been really into zombies so I thought I'd make her a zombie doll. She is not yet ready for zombie movies or anything that violent, but this summer her Grandma J. brought little zombie figurines as a gag gift for Jay. Eden fell in love . . . she thought they were hilarious. And then around Halloween she caught a glimpse of the clay-mation movie "The Corpse Bride" and suddenly everything was "zombie princess"!

I have plans to make more dolls; a Joan of Arc doll is in the works as well as two Pea-Pod baby dolls for both the girls. So far so good, but I'll wait to post them till they are finished. (The dollmaking is definitely the "Grandma Wolff" in me coming out :) )

Christmas In New York!
This year we spent the actual day of Christmas in Wisconsin with my side of the family. But on the 27th we did the Davis Christmas. We spent the night at Nana and Papa's house and woke up to a wonderful day filled with way too much good food and lots of love! Nemmie learned a thing or two about opening presents, and her focus even in the face of Ozma's hyper-ness was something to behold.Eden loved the new books she got!
Nem certainly knows how to let us know that she had a good Christmas! It doesn't look like it from this picture, but this was Eden's favorite present. It sings "Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty, her new favorite movie.

Occasionally Eden will stop what she is doing during the day and tell me that she is going to "Find the princess, kiss her, wake her . . . ok?" And then proceeds to the playroom to save her. (I like that she is the one that must come to the rescue. She's definitely not going to be a "damsel in distress" :)

And Thank you Thank you Thank you, Aunt Eleanor!! The elephant is so much fun! It plays a part in nearly every story nowadays! :)
