Enjoying the Simple Life
We are nearing the end of August and of the summer. I can hardly believe our sunny days and warm weather are on their way out. This summer compared to last has been wonderfully relaxed and quiet. Yes, we did have a third child, but all in all our days have been languid and easy. The girls and I have tea parties, sing songs, read books, inspect the garden, do housework together, go on walks and wonder at the world. All the while, the baby sleeps. Perhaps it's all the Jane Austen I've been reading, but I ask you, doesn't that sound like the setting for a Jane Austen novel?
Even the dog joins us in our calm. (Which, if you know anything about Ozma, is quiet miraculous!)
"Momma, I a robot!"(A long side-ways glance to see how I'll respond . . . pause . . . pause) "No, not really!" (followed by a raspberry or an explosion of giggles)
She is also getting very good at pratfalls and physical humor of all kinds. She keeps the tea parties from getting too serious :)
But now it is time for a nap . . .
